Central Iowa Regional Housing Authority (CIRHA) is seeking a highly qualified Executive Director to replace the outgoing Executive Director that is retiring after leading the agency for 30 years. The new Executive Director will manage a budget of $6.8 million, will report to a nine-member Executive Committee and manage a portfolio of 1,023 Housing Choice vouchers, 76 Emergency Housing Vouchers and 132 scattered public housing sites. The Agency employs 11 experienced and energetic staff that keep a High Performer status in both PHAs and Section 8. While operating out of their Grimes, Iowa office, the Agency provides housing assistance along with other programs in a six-county region located in Central Iowa.
Candidates should either be a graduate of an accredited college or university with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Accounting, or related area or have a minimum of five years of progressively more responsible experience in the supervision and management of affordable housing programs. It is expected that the selected candidate will have the leadership, management, technical and interpersonal knowledge, skills, and abilities to be a high-performing Executive Director. Compensation for the position is negotiable, depending on the qualifications and experience of the chosen candidate. It is expected that the selected Executive Director will establish residency in the Central Iowa region.
